Take a payment

Collect a card payment through configured Stripe checkout or record a tender handled by the clinic.

Before you begin

The invoice must be sent or overdue, have a remaining balance, and be opened by an admin or front desk user.

1. Open the invoice

Go to Billing, find the client or patient invoice, and expand it. Review the amount paid, adjustments, and remaining balance.

2. Choose how the client is paying

Choose Record Payment for cash, check, an external credit or debit terminal, online payment already handled elsewhere, or another tender. Enter the amount, method, and an optional reference note.

Choose Take Card to open Stripe Checkout when card payments are configured. You can also email the client a secure payment link for remote payment.

3. Verify payment and finish checkout

Confirm the payment appears in history and the invoice balance is correct. A fully paid invoice is ready for paid visit closeout.

Online card payments require Stripe to be configured and tested. Recording cash, check, or an external-terminal payment does not require Stripe.
