Understand team roles
OpenVPM uses roles to keep sensitive clinical, financial, and administrative actions with the right people.
1. Choose the closest working role
Admins manage the clinic and high-risk actions. Veterinarians and technicians work in the clinical record. Front desk staff manage scheduling and billing. Viewers have read-only access.
2. Expect protected actions
If an action is unavailable, confirm the signed-in role before assuming the workflow is broken. Billing changes are limited to admins and front desk staff; some clinical amendments and refunds require elevated access.
